Let's Visit Greeley!

Want to get away from Denver for a day? Why not Visit Greeley? I know what some of you may be thinking…what on earth is there to do in Greeley? Well, I’m here to tell you and shed some light on how charming this town truly is!

Greeley is about 1:15 from Denver but it makes you feel like you are much farther than that! Which in my opinion is perfect for when I need to escape the city. So here’s what to do during your day in Greeley. And everything on this itinerary is dog friendly!

Start your day with coffee at Margie’s Java Joint: This adorable coffee shop has smoothies and food as well! And their back patio is the perfect place to sit and sip with your dog.

Stroll along the Poudre River: The Poudre River trail extends over 40 miles from Windsor to Greeley. It is perfect for a family friendly stroll, bike ride, or run. Or visit Poudre Ponds for some paddleboarding! Just bring bug spray because the bugs in Colorado this summer are fierce!

Grab a brew at WeldWerks: This brewery is the most famous in Greeley and it has ample outdoor space so you can sit and have a brew while relaxing with your pup! The Blue Iguana Imperial Sour was soooo yummy.

Visit downtown: Greeley’s downtown is beautiful! There is a park to play in nearby, a plethora of restaurants and bars to visit, and every Friday this summer they host Friday Fest! We loved Luna’s Tacos and Tequila and they even have axe throwing!

Art Alley: Located right off of the 9th Street Plaza is Art Alley, a beautiful walkable alley featuring a bunch of different murals!

Friday Fest: Every Friday during the summer Greeley hosts Friday Fest. They feature free live music from 6:30-9:30 as well as the “Go Cup”. Basically you get ID’d once and then you can get your cup refilled at any of the outdoor drink vendors around the 9th Street Plaza. For kids there is face painting, balloons, bubbles, fire spinners and more, making this an event for everyone!

Looking for other things to do in Greeley? Check out their website here for more information. The Colorado Railroad Museum is fun for families, catch a show at The Moxi Theatre, play a round of golf at one of several courses, explore the buttes of Pawnee National Grasslands, visit one of the local farms, and so much more! Greeley is a place with so much to offer, so plan your trip there as soon as possible!
